Hear what others have to say.

We Collaborate

“I just wanted to take a moment and let you know how much I truly appreciate all the work, time, energy, and grace that you have offered to my students, my colleagues, and me. With only 2 weeks' notice, you each helped to develop a thoughtful, relevant, and engaging field trip to over 7 sites for 100+ students. This alone is an amazing task, way above and beyond your job descriptions.

But then, several students came to me after school and expressed how much they enjoyed the trips and how much they did not know about the city. This is our greatest success. They want more. They want to know more, visit more, and do more. And this is more than I could have asked for. Thank you.”

“This course has helped me understand that the historical sites around Boston are more than happy to work with teachers to better serve our student population. In addition to learning more about the programs these sites already offer, I was encouraged to consider ways in which the site can adjust current programs and create new ones to fit the curriculum and our student population(s). I plan to utilize these sites even more than I have in the past and consider new ways in which these sites can be connected to support student learning.”

“I think it is a wonderful opportunity to work directly with sites around the city of Boston on curriculum that works in schools.  It's beneficial for both teachers and sites. I also felt most of the people in the program had a wide range of knowledge and skills and were highly motivated and inspired to do exciting projects.”

- Boston Public School Teacher in Summer Professional Development 2016

“Our visit exceeded expectations! Students were able to take on the role of important characters from history while visiting the actual sites of events they have been reading about in the classroom.” - Boston Public School Teacher 2016

“I thought it was an excellent opportunity to ‘experience’ the event of the Massacre trial. Students gained a deeper understanding of the conflicts between the colonists and soldiers and what it meant to have strong enough evidence to convict. I would definitely do this again next year.” - Boston Public School Teacher 2016

“I think it was very kid friendly. The information was presented in chunks and had a lot of visuals and stories to engage students. Students had a lot of opportunity to ask clarifying questions. The information was presented in a very clear and accessible way.” - Boston Public School Teacher 2016

“My students got a chance to see firsthand a place that they had learned about. Role-playing the part of a Loyalist or Patriot will help them remember some of what they learned about the American Revolution.” - Boston Public School Teacher 2016

“The History Mystery was extremely engaging and informative. Prior to this activity, my students did not have knowledge about primary and secondary sources. This was a fun way to learn about primary and secondary sources.” - Boston Public School Teacher 2016
